We are excited that tomorrow is the day for our neighborhood celebration! The local park has been renovated, playground equipment repaired and painted and the unsafe 20+ foot drop off at the rear of the park is now protected with a strong, 8 foot, 135 foot fence paid for by donations from our local church Boquete Bible Fellowship, a large donation from a couple from church who assist us in the park on occasion as well as a dozen or so other donations of various sizes from individuals who wanted to help the children… Including two local businesses, Value Motors and Taboo. We are grateful to all that allowed us to reach our $1600 goal. In addition, Gina and I have purchased two picnic tables that are going to be installed in the park. We pray by tomorrow to help with the celebration! We are also celebrating the children’s Back to School excitement as their new school year begins in just over a week.
This event will include an additional outreach on top of the park renovation and new fence. As part of the back to school activities we will be presenting 8 of the local children with the greatest needs with new backpacks for school, filled with school supplies, and two sets of school uniforms each. Included with the packs will be a handmade chalkboard with their names and a special note to the children and their families that they are loved by us and that they can reach out to us for prayer at any time as we are their neighbors. Gina is also handing out special flyers we found in California when we visited that are a special message about the love Jesus has for the children and how to accept Him. Very cute and loving.
There will be a bbq for hot dogs, various picnic foods as well as whatever foods each family who attends decides to provide.
Included are some pictures of the park before renovation and fence and after.
Thank you God for your provision.
